But I agree that a little instability in the north can go a long way, and that a sincere push into the region could pose logistical problems given U.S. concentration in the south. The Taliban are thinking of how to move U.S. forces out of Helmand and Kandahar, so it's logical to challenge for the region if it can maintain substantial troops levels in the south. <br /><br />Infiltrating "the Stans" is a long-term strategy that will take time to play out.
